The 20 volts does drop under load: when I put the 12 volt battery in series it drops to about 13 volts with 7 amps of charge. I'd like to go a 12 volt system, but I need the cutout to do it right. If I can't find the cutout, I'll buy the cheap battery and go back to 6 volts (I went to 12 because I had a good used 12volt batt laying around, plus they are cheap, and start good). Right now I have the 6 volt cutout rigged up with the points far apart and a 25 ohm resistor in series with the fine wire coil to make it close at 12 volts instead of six. It closes slowly, though. I wonder if anyone has had any luck with a big 10-amp diode? Tks,
