Question: Why remove the belly pump and clutch before splitting? The transmission input shaft is splined in the clutch disk and it just slides out. That leaves the flywheel and clutch out in the open after splitting to get to the pressure plate. I have removed the clutch without splitting an H before, but the crud falling in my face while fighting the clutch out of that little cavity compels me to advise doing this after separating the engine and clutch housing. Also, Kevin, there are two bolts by the starter that need to be removed before splitting. One is next to the starter (long one) and the other is inside the clutch housing behind the starter (short one). You have to take the starter off to get to the short one.
