worlds biggest generator dilemma continues

what has been done, farmall m, gen and reg rebuilt and checked last week. hooked on pos. ground. with switch on, showing -10 charge also runs on -10. polarizing doesnt change anything, goes to -20 then back to -10. opened amp box, looks fine, nothing was never touched in it so dont see problem there. battery is fairly new as well. nothing has been done to tractor to cause any unknown problems in past months. could it be neg ground and i dont know it??? what connections would show this on amp box????
