I have a F340 dsl that I bought a couple years. I had to get it running from it not turning over. I would check your battery first to see that you are turning the motor over fairly good. With these engines you have to crank them pretty good. If the battery is ok. The next thing to check could be your fuel system. When was the fuel filter replaced last. Hopefully the battery is weak or your fuel isn't getting to the pump well enought to start. After checking those, I would check the pump. The pump could cost around $400 or more to get fixed if it isn't pumping the correct amount of fuel to the injectors. I had to get mine rebuilt. It was pumping fuel but not enough to get the engine to turn over and start.
I also forgot to mention that no matter what the temperature is you have to start these with the cylinders warmed by the glow plugs. All of these need to be working well for it to start easily. You have to hold the button for about 20-30 seconds and then try to start. Also you might want to check your starter. The glow plugs can burn out. The end on one of mine looked like it had blown off. Hope this helps a little.
Keith
