yep , parallel is correct! Positive to positive, neg to neg on the second battery capacity of your cables is,but it shouldn't hurt anything. the starter will spin like crazy. you shouldn't really need that much battery capacity though. I use 6 volt on everything I have that came with 6 volts. The only time I have ever had problems were if the battery cables were bad. Cables can "look" good but be hollow where the wire meets the lead terminal and be bad internally.I have seen that with 6 volts more than anything! My 49 Chevy truck suffered from the hot 216 stating problem that is common on those trucks and cars. It was like that for 15 years and I never found it until one day the positive cable fell apart!I was suprised because it still had the original packard cable in it and it looked perfect! I put on a new cable of the correct gauge and it started like it had a 12 volt system in it but it is a 6 volt system. It would fire right up even after going down the hiway for a few hours! I also drove that old truck year round and it always started even in the dead of winter, all with 6 volts! You might give new cables a try first, they are a lot cheaper than replacing two batterys and figuring out where to put the second one. Good luck with it.
