Peter, Phlogiston and Farmall 43 are correct. Worn guides allow the oil in the upper end to seep down into the cylinders and when you start it up you get blue clouds. It isn't serious to the tractor's operation as you have pointed out ,the tractor runs well otherwise. I have always believed that older and worn engines can take a heavier viscosity oil, you could try an h-d 30 or a 40 weight oil on your next oil change and you might get less blue clouds. Some synthetic oils will give you less clouds, it might be worth a try and of course next winter you can pull the head and get it done up. Best of luck from Mike in Exeter Ontario
