Cubfolk: For the next person who has to do this ,I'm going to list the steps( A wannebe mechanic like me needs a step by step procedure): 1.Remove cotter pin holding external shift lever to internal shifter shaft; 2. Disassemble other externals (self evident and simple); 3. Place thin cardboard in pto chamber to catch internal shifter should you drop it upon removal; 4.Remove internal shifter(not easy to do due to lack of space) by getting assistance from a small handed person like a wife; 5.Install new internal shifter( really difficult to do becuse of space and location of hole into which shaft must be inserted); 6. Solve the difficuly described in "5" by grasping middle of shaft of internal shifter with small Vise-Grip needlenose pliers which allows one to make the difficult insertion; 7. Remove cardboard; reassemble external shifter etc. Hope this helps the next guy. Kajun
