Maybe you have some advice for what I am experiencing.

I have replace the pto shifter approx 3 times due to it wearing out quickly. Apparently, the engaging gear and the pto shifter nub are rubbing and wearing out the nub (very quickly). I can fabricate my own pto shifter but that is only saving me money. When I look at the splines on both the pto shaft and the main drive shaft they all look good & all bearings appear to be snug. My next attempt is to loosen the belt tension on the pto pulley thinking I may be torquing the shaft and creating too much tension. Have you or anyone ever experienced a continuous wear on the pto shaft?
