Then i supect that the problem is in the carb , it is something stupid like a pice of dirt or rust or a cloged fuel line form the gas tank to the carb. Also make sure that the diesel pump is in the shutdown mode and no diesel fuel is getting in . the butterfly in the carb might be hanging up also.
