You got it! Only the regulator cares whether you're positive or negative ground. You don't do a thing to the battery - just reconnect so the ground cable is on the battery positive (+) post. Incidentally the ammeter doesn't care about grounding either - it simply reads backward (deflects to the left for charge and right for discharge) if hooked up with the ground reversed. Now "have fun"!!
