My M has a screen in the top of the bowl itself. This glass bowl is on there to collect the bigger pieces of dirt and it is made of glass so you can look in and see how much dirt is in there. When it accumulates you simply take it off and clean dirt out of it. There is no way for the system to drain this bowl so even when your tractor runs out of fuel the bowl itself will remain full up to the the gas line level.
