We put new tires and rims on our H last year and the new rims didn't have the cleats. They have been on there a year without any problem. I have mowed the field 4 times and moved snow with the loader last winter with no problem. I think you need to watch to make sure the lugs are tight and it is not sliping. If you are not doing heavy work, I wouldn't fool with it.
