First Tractor

Today I just bought my first tractor. It rained all day, so I won't drive it home until tomorrow after church. It's 1949 Farmall M with a wide front. I don't know much about these machines and greatly appreciate this site. I've learned a little bit just by lurking here for the last month. It only has the draw bar on the rear, and from what I've gathered, it would be best to have a 3 point hitch. I want to bushhog about an acre and disc about an acre. I've been searching all over the web and calling local dealers for a 3 point hitch, and the cheapest I've found is around $700. Does anybody know where I can get a good one for less money? Or, in your guys' opinion, do I really need a 3 point for what I'm planning to do. Thanks.
