Do Both. You could never change oil too often. The downside to this in newer autos is you might wear out the plug in the aluminum oil pan. Ralph had a good point about the acids in the oil eating at the bearings. I believe this. Synthetic oil would not do this. Around here in Ct. used motor oil is sent to Alaska or up North to be burned in Airplane hangers. I feel good knowing that those planes and people are warm. I used to be a Pennzoil fan (pure penn. crude oil, then, pure golden color), but pennzoil is now owned by Quaker State. Again change your oil and filter before and after storage.
