Larry I'm in the same boat as you, but my Regular has sat for like 40 years! My plan is simple, time and solvent. I pulled the head and scrubbed with "Gun Scrubber" but I've heard good things about "PB Blaster" also, I've got some but haven't tried it yet. It took the squeek out of the hinges on the doors on the girlfriend's car though. Next step for me is to pull the pan and take a look up from underneith. Probably pull the crank and rods and then maybe try to pound the pistons down with a piece of wood. If THAT doesn't work I'll go Red's route with the jack and chain, but I hope I don't have to, pistons for my Regular are pretty pricy and I'd rather not break any.
