AS a buyer I don't like making offers unless I am trying to jew someone down. I would pressure the seller into telling you what they want for it. Why offer them, say $800 when maybe they would of asked $200 if you would of insisted on them putting a price on it. If the owner don't know anything about it, you might sweet talk them into letting you have it for hauling it off. I know someone who got a tractor and some equipment this way. Always be smart but play dumb to a seller. Never volunteer any info to a seller that will be helpful to them on priceing what they got in other words. If they say its worthless, then you just shake your head and agree. If they want a mint for it, then be prepared to give them the spill, telling them the reasons its not worth it. Get back with us and tell us the asking price. If it is fair except it. Just remember to add value of missing parts from the persons asking price becuase that is what you'll be paying.
