Thanks for the information...I may go there with my Cub. I recently replaced the exhaust manifold on my Super H and just screwed the pipe into the manifold without anything on the threads except WD40 to get things moving (the pipe would only screw in so far without the WD40). With the lubed pipe going, I screwed it in by hand until it was as tight at I could get it by hand. I intended to go back with a wrench later, but by the time I did, the pipe was pretty tight and in no danger of loosening, so I just left it. I don't know if it is right or not, but it has worked fine so far.
