RE: Hydrolics

I finally got my 44 'H up and running pretty good so we can put it to work with a bush hog. A friend of ours brought his 5' bush hog over for us to use... a fairly heavy unit he got from the county. When I connected it to the tractor I found I have two problems.

1) I don't know squat about hydrolics
2) I've got oil running out of the system

Heres the deal. The cylinders have two 'connectors' on them. A lower connector to which the pressure hose from the belly pump is connected, and an upper connector which has an open ended rubber (overflow?) hose connected to it. When I lift the bush hog, the hydrolics stutter a little and oil comes out of the left rubber (overflow?) hose. Here are my questions.

1) Is the bush hog too heavy for my tractor? If so...
2) Can someone tell me the horse power of a 44 'H, so I may better match implement to tractor?
3) Is there a problem with either the cylinder or the pump that needs attention (the hydorlics work fine with our disker, but its lighter than the hog)?
4) Could there be a problem with the vent? The manual calls for the hydrolic cap to have 'packing' in it to prevent dust from getting in through the vent hole. I cut a piece of lawn mower air breather sponge and put it in the cap... problem here maybe?
