Farmall 956 Brake system

Can anyone give me information on bleeding the brakes on a old Farmall 956 tractor. I replaced the main hyd. feed tube to the brake system and have not been able to bleed the air out of the system. Can anyone tell me if there is more to be done besides depressing the pedal and opening the schrader valve? Must the engine be running and at what power setting?
