At the show this weekend I picked up a couple of magneto's. One is iffy but the other has a strong blue spark. Problem is is that it is canted off to one side. Basically, the bracket that attaches to the tractor is canted relative to the body of the magneto. So when it is mounted the cap over the coil sticks out to the side instead of being above the body of the magneto. I am having a terrible time timing (time timing?) this magneto and was wondering if this large tilt to the side can be causing it? I am also very amateur at timing mags. If it is the problem, how do I get the impulse assembly off to twist the bracket back into a "normal" position? I tried the nut at the end of the assembly but it is stuck fast. thanks for helping a magneto newbie! - BTD
