I bought a Farmall 504 at an auction sale and I thought it looked a little squatty, so upon further examination I discovered it has 36" wheels instead of the 38" that the books says is standard for that tractor. The auctioneer said the tractor had been in a fire years ago, so it could be the shop simply put on whatever they had on hand. Now the axle size is 2.75" with a single keyway, which is the same size as the 400, 450, etc. I took the IH part number off of the wheel and had the parts folks at Case IH look for it, but they said it was no longer a valid part number and therefore could not locate what it was (even though we know it is a wheel.) Does anyone out there know what IHC tractor might have used a 36" wheel, with a 2.75" axle? (The H has a 2.5" axle.) Thanks for your help.
