I have a 50 Cub with PTO. The spline and clutch shaft splines at the PTO end are worn off so that the PTO slide collar will no longer engage them and so the PTO will not engage. I need to replace the spline and clutch shaft. Can I merely separate trns from front clutch housing and then remove the shaft or must I remove all gears and the other components from the trans? Would appreciate advise. My IH/Case dealer says they'll do the job for about $800.00
