Farmall Ed, I just about pulled all my remaining hair out trying to make my sawtooth plate work, and after putting in an extra washer and then a new spring I got to studying the problem...wear. The plate showed a wear mark where the throttle arm rubs on it, but it was really not the plate that was the problem..there was more wear on the throttle lever than met the eye. I ground the end of the throttle off square and ran a bead or arc weld across the surface. That build up put extra tension on the notch tooth and suddenly it was fixed and works great...no more jumping out of the notches. Both my H's and my M have saw tooth plates and they all work fine..my thoughts...good luck from Mike in Exeter Ontario
