W6 Governor slightly erratic

Hello,
I've recently got my W6 running. It works well in the field but I have noticed that when it is idling the engine speeds up slightly and then returns to idle periodically. Would this just be the governor linkage sticking slightly or some wear in the governor? Any ideas? I've cleaned the fuel system completely and drained the oil several times and have since changed the filter and have good oil pressure.
