starter switch on H

I have a 41 H. I have seen most H's having the starter switch on the left side of the steering wheel support. Mine however is down by my foot on the back gas tank support. It is pretty hard to get your foot in there. My uncles M is the same but he has a lever offset that he pushes with his foot and it pushes the starter button. My H does'nt have mounting holes for this though, and the starter button is offset to the right and not centered on the support. Am I totally confusing yall yet? Anyhow is this normal for the earlier H's.
