Don't use gasoline as a cleaning solvent!! 1) It's highly flammable and a fire hazard. 2) It's toxic because it contains benzene and other similar chemical compounds. Instead, use paint thinner or a commercial degreaser such as Castrol "Super Clean" or a house brand from Auto Zone or a place like that. If you feel you must use a petroleum product, use kerosine. It'll take a lot of wire brushing and scrapping in addition to the use of the cleaner. A good pressure washer is a great tool also. Get one that does at least 2000 psi.
