Get into the archives on this board, and you'll find it to be a fairly common problem, but one that's usually pretty easy to improve, if not eliminate. The wobble comes from accumulated wear in several places. If you've already ruled out wheel bearings, move on to the other suspects. Check the condition of the universal joint in the center of the steering shaft. These are not hard to change, and are often worn badly. A bad universal joint can be responsible for most of your problem. The little bearing at the front of the steering shaft where it exits the front of the gearbox on the top of the front bolster is a frequent cause of this, and often overlooked. It's cheap, and easy to change. While you're in there, check the sector gear to make sure it's tight, and not badly worn. Occasionally you get lucky and find one that is a full circle instead of just an arc, and it can be moved to fresh teeth. If you replace the sector gear, replace the worm gear that drives it. If the center part of that worm gear is worn to a knife-edge, it's shot. You can sometimes get away with replacing the worm gear, but not the sector gear. If the gearbox is dry - without oil - you've got bigger problems. You'll need new gears, bearings, and almost certainly the sleeve bushings in the front bolster.
