Getting them off is easy if you don't care if you save it or not, just cut a slot with the torch... Getting them on is easier than you might think. You have to heat the gear. I have a heat treat oven, and only heated it to 500 degrees, and that was enough to easily slip over. You can heat it in the wifes oven. The problem with heating with a torch, some areas you can get too hot, and you can draw the temper out.
