To Paint, Or Not to Paint?

I have a few questions on painting a 1936 F-20.
1) Was the carburetor painted the same color as the tractor, or was it left natural cast iron? Would paint gum up the moving parts on it?
2) Was the magneto painted, or left natural aluminum, with the iron magnet unpainted? I have one F4 magneto with a thick coat of dark grey paint on the aluminum and another with red and silver paint on it.
3) On the exhaust and intake manifold, was the whole thing painted, just the center intake portion, or the whole thing left natural cast iron? I have seen several different paint schemes and colors on this part.
