I WORKED ON THOSE TRACTORS I SHOULD SAY FARMALLS FOR MANY YEARS DOUG. WHEN YOU TAKE THOSE BRAKES APART AGAIN. I'AM GOING TO SUGGEST THIS- CAREFULLY EXAMINE THEM TO SEE IF THEY ARE GLAZED. THIS MEANING SHINY, HARD, AND LOOKING LIKE GLASS. IF SO GET NEW ONES, I KNOW THEY ARE NOT CHEAP, GENERICS WILL DO. CLEAN UP ALL BEARING SURFACES WHERE THE ACTUATOR BEARS ON, IN HOUSING. NOT A BAD IDEA TO UNHOOK SPRINGS AND CLEAN UP THE STEEL BALLS AND RAMPS INSIDE THE ACTUATOR. DO NOT LUBRICATE THEM, A GOOD CLEANING WITH EMERY CLOTH WILL DO. CLEAN THE SURFACES WHERE THE DISCS WILL BE APPLIED ALSO. WHEN YOU PUT IT TOGETHER, MAKE SURE THAT THE SHARP EDGE OF THE DISC BORE FACES AWAY FROM THE ACTUATOR, THE SPLINED EDGE. CLEAN THE BALL THAT RIDES IN THE PEDAL ACTUATOR, ON THE PULL ROD. USE A GOOD ANTI-SEIZE COMPOUND ON THEM AND OCCASIONALLY A LITTLE LIGHT OIL WILL HELP. WHEN YOU ARE NOT USING THAT TRACTOR, KEEP THE PEDALS LOCKED TOGETHER APPLIED AND LOCKED DOWN. THIS WILL KEEP THEM FROM GETTING CONDENSATION ON THE BEARING SURFACES (RUST) YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. IT DOESN'T SOUND LIKE MUCH BUT BELIEVE ME IT WORKS. GOOD LUCK. NEAL
