John,
On the rings, be very careful installing them.
It's easy to break the ones made of cast iron or
steel. The oil scrapers for the bottom are not
usually fragile. Other than that, be sure they're
installed right side up so they'll scrape the oil
down, not up. There should be instructions with
directions on how to figure out top and bottom of
each type of ring and how to assemble the bottom
rings. Phil
