I hear the old fellows talk about using this trick to get out of a mud hole or sand hill but they said its a risky thing to try.
Also the standard thing they caried in the tool box of the old steel wheeled tip toe tractors was two pieces of cord wood.If they went down in mud or sand just jam the cord wood in the wheel and drive out.This worked most times but again it was risky could make the tractor almost stand on end or the cord wood could come around and hit you.
