Has anyone gotten a tractor unstuck by chaining a log that is about 6-8" in diameter and 6 feet long or so to the rear tires? The idea is to set 2 poles in front of each rear wheel and then chain them to the rears. Then you drive out. The logs act as a combination ramp/lever and it lifts the rears out of the ground and sets them on level ground. You then unchain and continue on (hopefully without getting stuck again.) It doesn't work too well in a real muddy / soft area, but if you are near enough to ground that will support the tractor without sinking again it works well. This old trick my grandfather passed down. We recently got my dad's 4020 unstuck with this trick. Just curious if anyone else has ever done this?
