My father had an H with loader. He took two (not sure) 4 x 6 or 4 x 8, 8 feet long placed over drawbar and under the axel housing. He built a platform with 2 inch lumber. In winter he had keep driveway open, had a snow blade on loader. Every week he would go to the feed store get half ton of baged feed and leave it on tractor until down to 4 or 5 bags. Then unload go to store for another load. He did this for years, as he increased the cow herd, I have seen him come home with a ton on back of the old H. He never plowed snow with the ton on,he was always afraid the 4 x 8 would break.
