i had a rare german export f-30, that i bought in macon mo. once owned by the man who invented the rotary dial for the telephone,(before that you had to call the operator to connect you to another party). i hauled it to w. tn. a few years ago and sold it to mike mcknight in galloway tn. after i decided it was to much of a job for me to fully restore a piece of history that important(many stories with that type of tractor). anyway you wanted to know about any differences btw. the f-30 and other tractors. first of all it's got a thermostat a foot long (it's adjustable)that could be stuck in the closed position (mine was).yes they will overheat! if that kerosene manifold is in real good shape then get it, if not then go with the gas, especially if the gas manifold is a factory i.h.--it will have a 3 corner connector at the top just like the kerosene manifold where the exhaust pipe goes out the top. check the kerosene manifold over real good, for any cracks, they even get cracks between the manifold and the block where you cannot see them. check to see that the open and shut valve works on the side of the manifold. it could be stuck in the open or hot position all the time. they weigh 2 3/4 tons i think.
