Bob On my 300U the pivit pin does have play both in front of and behind the axle. If you jack your tractor up right under the front axle pivit point there is a plate there so you won't be jacking on the axle, you will take all the weight off the axle. It should slide back to align the holes for your ball socket bracket. If the threads are shot on any of the holes then using the correct size drill bit for the next size bolt, drill and tap it. It might be cold under a shade tree this time of year especially without leaves.
