I've been looking into putting fenders on my Super-M and in the old parts catalog I got with the tractor is a picture of the fender with four 1 1/2 inch thick spacers that go between the fender and the axle on the bolts. Perhaps the spacers are to prevent the problem discussed here and to allow some space to clean the dirt way. BTW, does anyone feel that the fenders gives you any more safety while driving? Are they large enough to keep someone from falling into the wheel?
