I just pulled the engine out of my H this past weekend. I used the chains on the engine leveler on the four outermost head studs (head was removed before I split tractor). Worked great. Place a chain link or bracket hole on the leveler (if equipped) on the stud and screw the head nut on. The engine will lift cleanly and it will not hurt the studs unless you really try to angle the engine way past horizontal. The leveler makes it easy. Hope this helps.
