I was thinking of just bolting to the head studs, but feared that it might not be a good idea because they could get bent.

I'll do that tonight then!

Now I need to go buy a thin-walled 9/16" 1/2" socket to get the crank bearings out. I could not get my impact sockets around the bolt head, and broke a 9/16" 3/8" Craftsman socket last night trying. The lower radiator bolts were easier!
