Split 300U Back Together/Brake Info

Thanks to all who supplied ideas on getting tractor back together. I ended up placing the pressure plate and disk on transmission shaft first. Then a little grease on the input shaft and bam in like Flynn! I wish I would have tried this way first. Without a spare input shaft or the correct alignment tool I would have been there for a few more hours. I am working on the brakes next and I have a question on the inner brake housing/backing plate. Are these plates bolted on the transmission case or are they pressed into the case and held by the outer cover bolts. Any help on this or any brake tips would be appreciated. Thanks, Robert
