my H locked up like that too come to find out the roller bearing between the input shaft and the pinion shaft went bad and some of the rollers got between the bottom trans. case and the constant mesh gear. I'd put it in 5th gear and rock it a little and would be fine for awhile then it finally took all the teeth off the gear oops too smart too late merry christmas.
