706 batteries won't hold a charge

Been having some charging problems on my 706 (diesel) thought the batteries were bad so changed them and they still go down after not using it for a few days. Can't seem to find a feed out through the ground, rebuilt the alternator this summer and the regulator doesn't get used anymore as there is an internal one on the alternator. My starter needs rebuilt is it possible to be feeding out there? Getting tired of having to use the battery charger to start it. Thanks for all the help in advance & happy holidays to all.
