The hoses and pipes will unscrew from the pump. Don't forget to take off the control lever and the fill pipe. The coupler is pretty straight-forward. Take off the access panel at the rear of the pump, get a good light, and take a look. I think there are two types of these couplers, but they're pretty easy to disconnect.

When lowering the pump, you can get lots of good advice on different methods from the archives. The key word in all of this is HEAVY! When that thing comes loose, DO NOT have any part of your anatomy (especially your head) where it can get caught between the pump and the floor!

You can use the tractor without the pump.
