Road speeds

My older brothers and I were discussing my Father's John Deere M he bought new in about 1950. My brothers said they remembered my Father comparing the Farmall super A and the John Deere M. My oldest brother said the reason my Father bought the M was because it had one more horsepower than the Super A. The other brother said it was because the M had a higher speed 4th gear. I told them I could probably find out by posting the question on the forums. Do any of you know the high gear speeds for the two tractors? (note: this is not a "which one is better question," so lets not go there.)
