Round bale spike on H

Anybody thinks tractors are expensive - try horses (grin)! Just started feeding with round bales..guessing they go about #500. Got Saginaw hitch on back and am gonna store bales in barn but have to move them out to pasture. My H has trike front end..handles blade and bush hog fine. Will hay spike work OK and what about front wheel weights? Haven't noticed front end light with bush hog up? Thanks
