Frank, Some good advice from Steve, Red and Curt. Check the connections first. Replace the battery cables next and use the largest wire you can find. (#0 wire would be better than #1) Take the Generator to a Starter/Generator/ Alternator shop that has good references from folks you know and have them give it a load test. I had an alternator that looked ok until it was loaded and THEN it failed. Have the starter tested the same way. Rebuild them if they need it (far cheaper than replacing). Check the switch. We went through this a while back with someone else on this list on an H and the switch was the culprit (bad contacts). Even the slightest resistance will drop a couple of volts at over 100 amps. If you have a voltmeter and understand how to use it you can figure this out easily. If you don't, make friends with someone that does and ask them to help. Keep us posted here, there are lots of guys on this board that have done this type of thing more times than they care to remember. Someone out there knows the answer! Phil
