Just went through that whole mess on my 300 RC. Remove the tube clamps completely. Use a rosebud tip on your torch. If you can setup a way to twist the center housing and hold the adjustable part, that will help alot. On my front axle, one side came apart with no fuss, but the other was rusted solid. I had to take out the center pivot bushing with a grinder, so I could put a driver in the housing to pound the other axle out. (Kind of like driving a fence post into the ground). good luck
