The resistor will be fine. The current required for the 12V lights should be about half of the 6V lights. Just be sure to change the bulbs out or replace the lights altogether. The 6V bulbs won't last more than a few seconds on 12V. Bob is probably right about the dimming effect. You may have to change the resistor to a larger value one to get the dimming effect back to normal. Try one with 2X the Ohms of the original one to start with. Phil
