cub cadet 1282 hydro

Why is it that everytime I go to my local dealer for parts he can never find my parts under 1282. I mean crap it's tatooed on the side of it. But my tractor is one of the few red and white lawn tractor's that cub cadet made. Is that a good thing or a bad thing. But what I was wondering is what I need to replace if the battery is not charging , my manual says the rectifier regulater, or the stator . I've already changed the regulater but that didn't work . And a new battery. And I just think it to be uncommen to have to change the stator?
