I used JB Weld on my neighbor's maneure spreader rims. The biggest hole was no bigger than a dime. I grinded the rust off with a die grinder on the inside of the rim, then took masking tape and covered the holes from the outside. mixed up a batch of JB Weld, and put a liberal coating on the inside (the clean spots). I let it sit for two days to cure, then mounted the tires. It's been a year, so far so good. Feather out the JB a couple inches from the hole.
